Check out Virgin Voyages' Scarlet Lady

Vibe-checking the hip, adults-only ship after a Caribbean voyage.

First impressions of the 2,770-passenger Scarlet Lady: With no kids allowed, it is an 18-and-older “come as you are” casual vibe – for both passengers and crew – as well as its restaurants and bars that wouldn’t feel out of place in London, New York, or Miami.

If this ship were a celebrity, it would be: Rihanna – young, talented, edgy, bold, brash, and beautiful.

Who’s it for? Open-minded adults who like to detox and re-tox with great wellness programs and imaginative meals and cocktails, and who also appreciate avant-garde entertainment – a fast-paced acrobatic show inspired by Romeo and Juliet, for example, or the one-woman Never Sleep Alone cabaret show from the ship’s resident sexologist.

One dish to write home about: How about one tasting menu? The Test Kitchen’s vegetarian tasting menu is beautifully presented and wonderfully executed, and can be paired with wine, beer, cocktail, or mocktail flights.
